Nowadays, Dr. Veronica Ruiz paticipates as a professor in the Master of Mohs Micrographic Surgery (UAB), organized and led by Dr. Joan Ramon Garcés.
Till now, she has completed her medical formation with 3 trainings in the following centres:
- Plastic Surgery and Burns department of the Vall d’Hebron Hospital (September-October 2017).
- The Wound Unit of the Dermatology department of the Infanta Leonor Hospital (Vicente Soldevilla Medical Center) in Madrid (october 2018).
- Oculoplastic surgery Unit, Ophthalmology department, Sant Pau hospital.

Updated sessions on non-melanoma skin cancer: Basel Cell Carcinoma. Online Congress organized by the Navarra University medical center in June 2020.
In this presentation, she described the adverse effects related to the administration of the Hedgehog inhibitors (they are drugs used in the treatment of certain advanced cases of basal cell carcinoma), as well as their management.

In this talk, the usefulness of vismodegib in combination with other therapies in the treatment of some complicated cases of basal cell carcinoma was reviewed.

2 virtual meetings that took place on 30th of November and 3rd of December 2020, whose main objective was to talk about the use of the new hedgehog inhibitor, sonidegib, for the treatment of complex cases of basal cell carcinoma.

In this presentation, a clinical case of angiosarcoma was presented, a very rare skin tumor, as well as its treatment.

The purpose of this presentation was to describe the incidence and risk factors for the development of non melanoma skin cancer and infections in solid organ transplant patients, who follow controls in the dermatology department of the Sant Pau Hospital.

In this presentation, a complex clinical case of basal cell carcinoma was described, and lots of different issues related to this treatment were addressed.

The Spanish registry of Mohs surgery (REGESMOHS) began in July 2013, with the participation of 24 hospitals, and in which the Sant Pau Hospital and the Teknon Medical Centre play an active role. Their principal objective is to describe the Mohs surgery in Spain and the factors that influence in their results.
In this presentation, the main baseline characteristics, aggressiveness and recurrence of cutaneous tumors located on the periocular (especially the internal canthus) and periauricular zones that were treated by Mohs surgery in Spain, were explained. These also were compared to other tumors located in other facial areas (like the forehead or the malar area) that were treated by Mohs surgery as well.
